Has anyone seen an instances where MAS 4.3 accessing Business Insights Explorer is extremely slow. Initial access 40 seconds or so (before screen appears). Subsequently unable to call up any of the saved settings and the BIE appears to hang. I use BIE extremely rarely --- so I've not had much experience in debugging. Customer reports this is a drastic change from how it used to work (they're heavy users of the feature) Thoughts?

Wayne, I am having this issue with a couple customers on MAS 4.4 with BIE. It just started happening recently as well. I even tried it right from the server on a MAS200 install and it hangs before I can do anything. I have found I can hit ESC and interrupt the initial record read, that then allows me to proceed forward with changing the selection.

Have they changed their settings that it automatically pulls more than the first 1,000 records? I've found that people with large files need to ""perfect"" the individual searches before modifying this setting. Also, I assume this is a network environment, have their Anti-Virus programs changed or been updated? I have seen these conflict, although rarely.

Last year I had turned on CS ODBC for one user on 200 4.30 using BIE views. Now instead of taking over 2 minutes to load it only took 45 secs but without progress meter so they had perceived that as hanging even though it was faster. Brian and Chuck are right on about being able to use ESC to interior and if the 1000 record load limit was unchecked (it was in my case)

I meant interrupt above not interior .. unpredictive text feature on phone

What's odd is that I change to ABC company. Run a BIE on the same module menu but in ABC. Normal fast speed. Change back to production. The BIE runs fast. I'm theorizing that it may be an AV issue or something being cached on the server. Largest AR data files are about 32 MB so I don't suspect they are major contributors. Once I get the BIE running quickly - changing to a saved setting however produces a similar slowdown. I am RDP'd directly to the server so if there's an AV issue I'm guessing that it's server related.

Although the data completes - the customer complains of slow speed. Naturally the complete story is likely somewhere in the middle since they say it's been slow ""for about a week"" and they sent an email to their IT department asking them if ""what they did a week ago"" could have impacted speed.... It's like this is a big game of ""can you guess what we did to our system to make it be slower?
