Has anyone see this error when trying to open up Sage 100 Standard 2014? ""SY_SagePEPTask does not have correct permissions"" I tried restoring that file but have had no luck. No one at the client can access sage due to this error! Help!

Login as Admin and turn off PEP

The crux is that I can't log into sage - this happens before I'm hit with a login screen...

I have had 3 clients in the last week with this issue. I have turned it off on each.

Yikes. Even right click and try Run as Admin? Is this Std or Adv?

Make backup first: If the customer would like to continue to participate in the PEP program, rename and manually reinitialize the SY_SagePEPTask.m4t file. This will require everyone to exit the program. Navigate through Windows Explorer to ..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\ and rename the SY_SagePEPTask.m4t file (e.g.: SY_SagePEPTask.BAD) Log back into Sage 100 Go to Library Master, Utilities, Reinitialize Data Entry Files Click on the Manual button In the File Name field, enter SY_SAGEPEPTASK.M4T. Click Proceed. Close the task and continue working. The errors should no longer occur.

Running as administrator returns the same error. My next plan is to copy sy_system and PEPtask down to my system and use my DFDM to edit it to turn off PEP and reinitialize PEPtask. So hard to get to Library Master when you can't open Sage!

That didn't work - and their PEP was already turned off! Any more ideas?

My personal experience with this involved calling Sage and they had to help me replace the file- they gave me a copy from their system...it took some doing to finally get it resolved. Continued good luck!

Have you tried opening sage from the pvxwin32.exe? Go to MAS90\Home. Find pvxwin32.exe and double click. In the window it opens, type: run ""startup.m4p (closed quote is optional). This will open the signon screen. If you get this far, I'd sign on ad administrator and turn off PEP. Not sure if this will help at all, but it's easy to try. This works for me many times when the workstation isn't loaded on the machine I'm on or I'm having issues with the workstation..

Tried Wayne's files, tried running MAS90 style. Still no love.

@KateKrueger Did you ever get this issue resolved for your client?

Thanks to the genius of @alnoorcassim it came to light that the SY_Module file was missing (?!!?). We restored that and the error went away. Yay!

Please try whenever possible to update posts with the resolution which worked -- as well as the things that did not. This allows us to save the information for distribution to members who may encounter similar issues in the future.
