Sage 100

Has anyone integrated Global Shop with MAS? I have a customer who is asking about it. They currently use MyTrac(?) and MAS (core and payroll). They are a metal fabrication shop. TIA!

As I recall, Global Shop's sweet spot is not metal fab. Global Shop, like all the other job shop packages that ""integrate"" to other accounting systems (not their own) will have inconsistencies and irratic behaviors. Any reason they haven't looked at JobOps? It really is a terrific way to deal with MTO situations for companies that already have Sage 100.

She would like to import time into payroll as well. @BobPfahnl is that possible? And I don't believe JobOps tracks time, does it @JerryNorman?

It does time capture on mfg steps very well, and feeds into payroll. Pretty slivk. There's not much (if anything) in mto mfg it doesn't do. Call me after 9:30 today, if you like.

It does, but compared to Sage 100 capabilities, they're pretty pedestrian. Also, you generally find that the financial parts of these packages were tacked on after the job control stuff, instead of architected from the get-go. If the Ops Manager is the dm in these deals, the Global Shop's usually win. If the Controller has veto power, then Sage 100/JobOps is easy to sell. And int this case, the customer already has Sage 100. They would have to migrate to Global Shop to use the financials.

I just got some GS screen shots from my client for Employee and Earnings Codes setups. It looks like the data fields can be mapped. My client has 50 employees and simply prints the Time Card from GS and hand enters in PRPDE. She says it only takes her 15 minutes so it's not worth the effort of importing.

PS. If they haven't bought and/or implemented, they may want to talk to my client.
