Has anyone imported the entire zip code file (SY_ZipCode.M4T) to Sage 100? When I look at some of my zip code records through DFDM I am seeing spaces at the end. This makes it so I have not been able to call them up through the regular UI to edit. What I'd like to do is export out the Zip Code masterfile, get rid of any spaces, then reimport. My concern: a. There's a file SY_ZipCodeEdit.M4T which appears to hold: a - adds c - changes Do i need to reinit this file too before reimporting to the SY_ZipCode.M4T? I am afraid if I don't have a SY_ZipCodeEdit.M4T that during a subsequent Sage 100 upgrade the process could try to merge the edits to a master file and if there's no SY_ZipCodeEdit then I may be left with a standard zip code file without any changes/edits. Has anyone tackled this previously?

Moira has shared and I have used her zip code file import. I have never had any issues with it. Thought I have never looked at it via DFDM...

I looked at the Canadian and US zip code files that I posted. I don't see any spaces at the ends of the zip codes, however since the US zip codes are 5 characters perhaps the space is a formatting mask for the dash plus four.

More specifically my question is that if I reinitialize both: SY_ZipCode SY_ZipCodeEdit And then import the full list that the customer already has. Do I need to worry about what was in that SY_ZipCodeEdit file (which shows (a)dd and (c)hanged records)?

If you reinitialize them and then import, I would think that both would be populated since the VI would 'add' records. I don't know why there is a separate file for tracking adds/changes perhaps it was created for a future use that hasn't materialized yet.

Thanks - I'm going to reinit the SY_ZipCode and SY_ZipCodeEdit and hope for the best on reimport to SY_ZipCode.
