Has anyone here worked with Ensemble before?

is that the clothing/apparel add on?

Yes - we have come to the understanding that they don't work with other resellers thought? At least that's what they told us, if we have clients interesteed in their enhancements then they essentially take over the client. They have the sales order matrix/ reatil inventory management/etc enhancements that one of our clients need. I'm just curious if other people have had the same experience we had with them.

Did they learn this attitude from Sage? Jeez, who pooped in their sandbox?

Thanks for making me smile @BethBowers . We have never encountered another reseller like this before, absolutley no room for negotiation/partnership. Now we are looking at solutions from IIG.

There are other solution also out there - ACS Group and DSD ES matrix IM-1220 - depending on what your customer needs. Between all of the other MD maybe you don't need to use Ensemble... They have been around along time and I worked with them years ago but they didn't keep up with being certified with Sage. Not sure if they are certified MD now.

Good to hear they haven't changed................ I think I ran into their brick wall back in the v4.0 or v4.05 days. At that time, they spouted the same line AND said they really didn't have any plans to upgrade their customizations until Sage was done with their BF dealing. So this meant that the poor client was stuck on v3.X for six or seven years. Would be interested to hear if they have made the leap to v4 land. I also wonder if you can't replicate their abilities using scripting, UDF's, the pricing enhancements that Sage now includes and other creative solutions. I am positive that Randy Marion, Alnoor, Dan B and others could help craft a solution.

I'm with you Jeff, it would be interesting to see if they have upgraded their version of MAS to the current version. Most of their Matrix screens were dos looking. Not sure if you can be creative with that Matrix screen. I am curious to see if anyone has a solution other than what the MD have.

I believe Ensemble is up to version 4.4, but they told me they had no plans of going to 4.5. They also aren't even looking at using Sage Payment Solutions, just PC charge for now....

And I thougth Sage was progressive.........

If they can develop a Matrix screen, I am sure others could, expecially if they could work outside MAS.

Many years ago, I referred a client to DM2 who has a fuel distribution add-on. After they were involved, they required the cient to change ROR to them. Sort of removes your urge to recommend.

The same thing happened to us with JobOps and Synergistic many moons ago. Sold the product, lost the customer. I had many conversations with them later (when we had a JobOps prospect). Fortunately, it's not like that any more....

We also had a customer with DM2. After they became involved with the client, they required the client to ROR to them and we were never able to work with the client again.

Worked with Ensemble a lot back when they were Apparel Associates. They made the decision close to 10 years ago to stop working with resellers. Reasoning is that they had so modified MAS that their product wasn't really an enhancement, rather that MAS was the accounting base for a whole product, similar to how DM is in petro business. Product is more than just a matrixing of inventory, it includes other apparel and footwear features, like royalties, etc.
