Has anyone had to resolve this type of error (4.5)? Oh great @AlnoorCassim, can you assist? Custom lookup is corrupt. Use Custom to delete and recreate. (Lookup SY_TaskPeriodEnd, Error #20: Syntax error, at line 1040) Click OK to display Standard lookup

At this point I'm probably going the reinstall route, but was hoping not to have to do that.

Client is on PU4. Copying in the 5 SY1Q*.SOA files from my local SOA folder didn't help.

I'm assuming this happens only on ALE lookup for one specific lookup? If it's not only ALE then this might be worth a glance https://www.evernote.com/shard/s1/sh/3e8f2b51-1c72-49fc-a3bb-390e330c6196/2a4f59cd59e95832c2ccf359a46d764a

Thanks, @WayneSchulz. Not sure if that applies though. Is that the link you intended to post? Errors are happening all over the place (e.g., Period-End function, Inventory lookup, User Maintenance, etc., etc.), and it's happening pretty much to all users - although an error on one lookup for a particular user doesn't necessarily happen to a different user on the same lookup.

Yes - I was thinking maybe a menu rebuild. I think the info in the link (second part) has the code to rebuild menus without reloading all modules.

Look at the key - note ueser, company and I think lookup- then go to the custom lookups and create a new lookup and kill the old one.

Thanks, @JohnnyPabian. However, it's not happening with just ""custom"" lookups. Issues also occur in User Maint for example.

With @AlnoorCassim's suggestions and info, we appear to have gotten this resolved a couple weeks ago. In the end, specifically replaced sy0q4 and providex.dcl. And then also decided to rebuild sy_personalizeale (via pvxwin32.exe > run ""sy_rebuildsystem.m4p) - although not sure if that mattered or not. Then some more lookups issues re-surfaced the following day, but it appeared to only be related to certain users for certain lookups. So then manually deleted the applicable records from the sy1q* files, as well as removing several records for Users who no longer exist because maybe those may have been causing issues as well. This manual process was rather convoluted of which required fumbling thru it, using best judgment.
