Has anyone had success with either reducing or eliminating the downgrade fee when giving up FAS licenses? I was quoted $495 to downgrade, which is BS.

Apparently, Sage wants money regardless of whether you buy or forfeit FAS licenses.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Downgrading from what to what? Are you talking about giving up seats but maintaining FAS?

Yes, downgrading from 5 user to single network user.

Is the $495 a lower annual fee and they are resetting it to whenever the downgrade takes place? Do they get some credit for their existing maintenance??

FAS operates as it's own country.

@ThereseLogeais Yes, it's a lower maintenance fee (since there are less users). Client was coming up for renewal and felt maintenance fee was excessive, so I suggested downgrading to single user (which is all they use) and reducing their maintenance by 50%. But the downgrade fee makes it less attractive.

No, I was asking if the $495 WAS the new maintenance fee but if it is in fact a downgrade fee, WTH?? @WayneSchulz is right, FAS is not only another country, it's another world.

@MarkKotyla - suggestion - post this in the Sage 100 Users and Consultants group on LinkedIn, which will force Sage to either try to justify it in public or back off of it. Worked well for me when they tried to expire support for EES before support expired for the corresponding MAS version.

Downgrade fee quoted to us on Sage 100 (Premium to Advanced) also. Sage says they have to generate new license keys - cost: $500.00
