Has anyone had experience using an online backup service on a MAS 90 Server? A customer is trying to use the Carbonite backup service and we are having problems with a lot of locked file messages.

Shouldn't be an issue if everyone is logged out of the system during backup. Sometimes user forget to completely log out so they get the activate.pvx corrupted file message.

Online backups are not supported or recommended for MAS. If you can, use msbackup, create a batch file or use any other utility to create a nightly condensed file of the company data folder at a minumum. Then have the online backup solution back up this file nightly. This will give you a restore point for the data that includes all the files.

For our own server, I have a scheduled script that runs a SQL backup for our CRM database, zips it, then zips up MAS_XXX, MAS_SYSTEM, and the Paperless Office directory, then ftps the zip files off site.

I installed MozyPro for Servers at a client approx. 8 months ago and it appears to work well. Backup is scheduled to run after hours and has been reliable. Able to back up open files on NTFS and provides 30 days of backups.
