Has anyone had experience upgrading Excel datalinked spreadsheets after upgrading from v3.71 to 4.4. For example in Crystal you can relink to the new data source and it will fix up the report. Does Excel have the same functionality or do you need to completely rebuild the queries from scratch? I have a client that has 4 or 5 spreadsheet the are written with the 3.71 data dictionaries and wants them upgraded to V4.4 dictionaries.

This is much easier in newer versions of Excel; you can just indicate the new data string.

Follow these steps: 1. Click somewhere in the data area. 2. On the data tab, click the Connections button. 3. Click on Properties under Workbook Connections. 4. Click on the definition tab and you will find the path information.

What happens if the names of the fields have changed? Also they have UDF's so that adds to the fun!

Then you have to re-write more of the string.
