Has anyone had clients complain that Sage Intellig

Has anyone had clients complain that Sage Intelligence is just to slow when consolidating many companies? (65 in this case). Sage is actually agreeing to a refund because of how slow it is compared to FRx. Suggestions?

Yes. We have a long term client using F9 with 30 company codes. Could not switch them to Sage Intelligence because it took forever to try and load the data. They are still using F9 since you can start-up right away and control when the recalcs are done. Not the best solution but after the SI trial they decided to live with it for now since it was more acceptable to them than SI.

Yes. Have a 24 company consolidation for reporting. A couple of things helped 1. Reports based on Consolidated Report Designer remove any unused union (sub reports) reports, i.e, roll up codes, budgets if they aren't needed 2. On the subreport/union add filter to limit number of years of data for example, Union Report Actuals can be filtered with Fiscal Year > x 3. Write new connectors as SQL joins and use left outer rather than inner joins. They are much faster. If you aren't a pro writing SQL, first create the connector as graphical join, then change to SQL Join and edit the Inner joins to Left.

The clients biggest problem is the lack of a true hierarchical drill down. They don't want to see all the details for a row, but rather want to drill down the branches of the 'tree' that FRx does so well. It looks like Sage may actually offer a refund, and we are awaiting confirmation. Does anybody know of a way to get Frx to work on Windows 10? If not, what was the last version of Windows it worked on? Maybe we can suggest they run a Virtual machine on the workstation with that version of windows just to run Frx which they already owned. We even looked at RenovoFYI, but they charge by company and the cost for software alone was over $23,000.

    Have you looked at BizNet?

From what I hear, RenovoFYI would not be any faster.

There is a bug in reporting trees for consolidated data in Sage Intelligence. I had FRx running on a Windows 7 system.

Yea, we looked at Biznet. Unfortunately it too doesn't have reporting trees like Frx

Actually, @MarkChinsky, I think it kinda does - via Virtual Rollups. Here's a [link](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=U9xmbSPlunU) and .pdf - although I don't have any experience with it. I'm currently in the process of designing some BizNet reports for a client who had some funky FRx Reporting Trees, but I'm accomplishing it via formulas.

Sage is actually refunding MONEY? Closest I could ever get a refund from Sage was a CREDIT on their account good ONLY for new purchases, NOT client care. Please let us know if they get a check.

We've only had a couple of clients insist on Sage Intelligence and they weren't thrilled and a couple dumped it quickly. We do a lot with Biznet and once clients get past the fact that there are not reporting trees, clients really like the product. Probably 98% of all our FRx clients have moved to Biznet.

My suggestion would be if they have a ton of companies, SQL does handle the re connection to the different databases significantly faster than advanced or premium. For a client with 60 ish it was taking multiple hours, the upgrade to premium dropped that number down to about 20mins. From what I have seen it takes roughly 5s to connect and disconnect from one company, at 5 sub reports that makes it 27mins. If you limited the pull for the sub reports theoretically that could decrease the run time. Update: I have found if you remove the sub reports for settings, account types, and roll up codes (and turn them into static sheets), you will save roughly 10s~20s per company in sage 100 standard (local install). Depending on the functions you use should determine which of those you turn to static and which to keep as sub reports. Attached are my two comparison reports using the demonstration ABX financials.

FRx works in W10 without any problems.
