@Jane Scanlan - I've had it working successfully for a long time, ever before my 2012 post on this thread.
However it won't work on systems for most of your customers because they have 3rd parties that both modify and password protect the Rebuild Sorts programs, which doesn't allow me then to reproduce the code to run in an unattended, schedulable way. As an example, the stock Rebuild Sorts for SO is called SOZUZA and is conducive for creating an auto-run version from it. However it does not run as business object code (doesn't use classes) and this means Scanco mostly, instead of creating an MD override, has to directly modify the program, for purpose of adding their own routines for recalc'ing their own stuff beyond the std Qty on SO recalc. I've seen it for JobOps / Ops Mgmt and for Multi-Bin/Whse Mgmt. That's good of them but then they password it too and now both the stock program and their overlay is passworded and invisible to me. They are very averse about sharing it with other MDs so this is a dead end.
A 2nd way to deal with this is they could just share how they they calc their routines so I could just code that into my auto-run program. Also a dead end.
A 3rd way is Sage could rewrite stock Rebuild Sorts to use business objects. Then anyone create a BOI script/app to rebuild and schedule at night.
The 4th way is the only one that can work in your case. It been talked about here in HL / SocialCast before and used successfully by some people here, to use a keyboard/mouse recorder application such as
Macro Express and pay the $70. You would record a macro/script to actually start up Sage, start Rebuild Sorts, choose your module, click Proceed, choose Yes to recalc open qtys or whatever the question is, let it finish, choose the next module, rinse and repeat until your done. Then you schedule the macro to run unattended at night. It's suitable if you have only a few company codes.
In short (and unfortunately), if there's no Scanco, there's a good chance I have a solution. What I always do to verify if ask for the SOZUZA, POZUZA, and IMZUZA/B files and check to see if their passworded.
Last thing is 80% of the requests I get for Auto-Run Rebuild Sorts are for customers using Scanco so conclude what you will about that in terms of Qty On SO / Qty on PO, etc being off frequently.

Subject: Has anyone every created a routine/ script to rebu
Good morning everyone,
Seems like Sage will never be able to determine why the On S/O, P/O, etc. becomes inaccurate and therefore the reason for the rebuild sort files utility. There are several threads on this in 90minds - and rightly so - inquiring if anyone has been successful in an automated task to run the rebuild sort files utility.
Has anyone been able to get an automated task/batch file or something to rebuild sort files? @Alnoor Cassim you get my vote and my dollar if you have any update on whether you've been able to create something like this. Any news on this topic would be much appreciated.

I have a Sage 100 Adv 4.5.0.7 client who is interested in having the S/O, P/O and W/O Sorts Rebuild run automatically (with Recalcs) - at least on a weekly basis. I initially suggested just using something like Macro Express, but they'd actually be more interested in something that's more integrated. I'll contact you directly, @AlnoorCassim.
