Has anyone ever used 1 Citrix for 2 separate 100 A

Has anyone ever used 1 Citrix for 2 separate 100 Advanced installs? Each install is on its own server, but all users access via Citrix & need to be able to point to the correct install.

I've never had that exact scenario, but if they're the same version, it shouldn't be an issue.

@SteveIwanowski Do you think there will be an issue with activate.pvx? How will the client know which file to use? We couldn't use 2 Sage Intelligence licenses on this Citrix machine; they have to share a license & BI Repository because the workstation is linked to the license.

You would install one Workstation Setup onto the Citrix box and then configure multiple Sage 100 servers. See the second and third page in the attachment. The downside is that they'd need to pick the server each time they launch, but maybe somebody else knows a way to workaround that.

But I'm not sure how Sage Intelligence would react at all.

Do users access more than one install or is each install associated with a single instance? Also what version of Citrix are you working with?

They are load balancing 3 Citrix servers. v7.15. Depending on the user, they will typically use 1 install, but a handful of users would need access to both. However, 2 separate users will be on the same Citrix at one time, each using their own instance. This was the problem with Sage Intelligence. Once that workstation licensed the SI version, everyone who logged in saw that license/repository; even if they accessed it from within separate Sage installs. SI would not point to two separate installs at the same time from the same workstation. This is our concerns with Advanced. That once users start logging into the client & accessing 1 install, another user on the same Citrix box will not be able to access the 2nd install.

In that case, I would probably install each Sage Intelligence onto two standalone Citrix servers and just publish that application back to the Citrix server that the users connect to.

Ok, maybe I stated this wrong. We are working with 5 servers: Sage 1, Sage 2, Citrix 1, Citrix 2, Citrix 3. Each Sage install would be loaded on their own Sage server. All users get load balanced between the 3 Citrix machines & could fire up either Sage instance depending on who they are. There would be multiple users on each Citrix box at one time, some using the Sage 1 install & some using the Sage 2 install. This is why SI is not liking this. Spoke to Sage about SI & they said that once the Citrix machine is licensed to one SI, another user can't license it to the other SI. Right now we have 1 Sage install running Advanced & 1 Sage install running Standard. So, they are separate clients, each pointing to the correct install. If we move the Standard install over to Advanced, would this be an issue & would the client not be able to keep them separate? Or, will it work like the doc you attached & they would be prompted for which one they want to fire up each time?

I think the server selection only happens if both Sage installs are running Advanced, but I can't think of a reason why having separate shortcuts for the Advanced and Standard installs wouldn't work. You'll have to pioneer that one and let us know. For Sage Intelligence, I think you'll be stuck with separate installs onto separate Citrix servers because of the licensing. Either they can create a security group to dictate which Citrix server the users can connect to (can't load-balance to all 3 then), or they can publish the Sage Intelligence application (and Excel, I guess) from the Citrix servers and set up shortcuts to it on the other Citrix servers to that application.

This is currently working, using 1 Std & 1 Adv, except some network instability is causing errors in Std. Either Citrix load balancing is not supported for Std or their network just has issues. They want to change the Std to Adv because the Adv install runs fine. Just wondering what we are in for having 2 Adv on the same Citrix workstations...

Oh good! Standard works fine for us when load-balanced across Citrix servers, and if Advanced has no issues, I'd lean towards their network.
