Has anyone ever seen the background color not work? I have the Theme set to Classic in Company Maintenance, and have tried setting the background color, frame and all sorts of variations therein, but the color doesn't show up. This is a new implementation, no enhancements, UDF's or anything. Very vanilla install. Doesn't work in any of the company codes. What am I missing?

You have to use ""Library Master"" > ""Main"" > ""Theme Maintenance (or something)"". Create a new theme code which you can copy everything from an existing theme code, then set the frame/background color options on the new theme code. Then point your company code to the new theme code.

But that is just for the ""new"" theme, right? I want the classic theme in the Standard desktop, and that is set from company maintenance. I can't even get the system to recognize the Standard Blue vs Standard Green. I tried to make a purple too, and no luck. It just won't budge! I am reinstalling the system files right now to see if maybe that fixes it.

if i remember correctly, if you are using the modern launcher, the company specific colors under company maintenance don't work unless you set the colors under a new theme code, it won't work if you use one of the 3 standard themes that come out of the box.

Update: i think i see where the confusion is, perhaps it is not working as designed but when you select the ""CLASSIC"" theme, the Enable Company Specific Background Color drop box is enabled which leads you to think you can set it here, but if you click preview, you'll notice there is no difference, it is overridden by the settings in Theme Maintenance in which you'll notice you can't even change any of the settings on the 3 out-of-the-box themes. It also doesn't seem to matter which launcher you are using btw.

Thanks @DavidSpeckII I'll mess around with that tomorrow, just seems so silly. I don't think I have even been in Theme Maintenance in this install. How on earth would a client figure this out!?

Did anyone reach a conclusion with this? Been experimenting so much with it, I have forgotten why I started.....

Create a new theme code. Copy it from an existing one. Change the frame and/or background color. Save it. Apply it to the company. If the user has a theme code specified, it will override the company theme. This can be left blank though. See attachment.

So under the user settings, just specify Standard desktop without a theme. A blank theme field defaults to the theme assigned in company maintenance?

You can specify either Standard Classic or Classic Desktop but leave the Theme Code field blank if you want to use company specific frame and/or background colors (or anything else you configure in the theme). Also, you cannot leave the user theme code blank and just set the company theme code to classic and change the dropbox value to something and set a color on the theme tab of company maintenance. From my testing, it must be a new theme code where you change appearance, then select the new theme code under company maintenance's theme tab.
