Has anyone created an aged AP trial balance? Just

Has anyone created an aged AP trial balance? Just had a client call. They are going through a major refinancing and the auditors want 24 months of Aged AP that ties to the ending balance in the GL. That means running a historical AP trial balance and aging each detail invoice. Thanks,

If there was any report I wish Sage would add, it's that.

There used to be a custom aged trial available with a Crystal package. I am not sure if it can be updated. When I get to the office I'll check.

Another approach - Create a stripped down AP trial balance report and export the data to Excel. Use a pivot table to create the aging. Will probably have calculated fields to assign aging buckets. The auditors should love to have the aging in Excel in a pivot table. Having the AR invoices in Excel, the auditors can test the aging.

Couldn't you edit the standard A/P Trial Balance Report and create multiple if-then formulas for the various aging buckets?

@BrettZimmerman that's what we plan to do if we can't find one that already exists. Rather not reinvent the wheel if possible. Otherwise, I will do it an post a copy here.

@MyronStevenson I suggested that approach but was told the auditors want the aging for every month for the past 24 months. That's a lot of spreadsheet calculations and manual work.

I see a report run with 24 dates. Custom AP trial balance with aging.

Did someone find/make one of these? I just had a client request it. Yeah, a CPA from a big 4 firm. ""I'm used to getting ... blah blah blah"".

Yes I have one I'm not sure if Shawn got it to work. Give me a couple to find it.

The customer backed off but I still think there is value. we have a couple big projects that have us too busy to create something right now but will probably create something in February.

Has anything changed in the past 11 years?  @Wayne Schulz ??  Is there one in the Library?

Does anyone recall if this report has been suggested on the Ideation90 tab?  Seems like a no-brainer.

Seems like it would get a lot of accountants off a lot of consultant backs, too, @Jeff Schwenk

Yes, but we all saw their look when we asked for a simple date fix on reversing JE's.......  A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a basic simple suggestion.

My expectation is that Sage would reject the idea without more than a half-second of consideration... but if someone posts the idea, I'll vote for it.

FWIW, this is fairly straight forward to create in Sage Intelligence.

Only if you don't give them the option to backdate

Use 2 tabs: one for "normal" invoices and one for the "inv_date < acctg date"?

We've been asking/talking about this report for at least 11 years (if not longer).  I created a post on the Ideation90 tab.  Vote early and often.  I will look at the Sage Idea website.  If one exists, I will post a link here.,  If one doesn't, I will create one and post the link here.  I will also email my clients with the link so they can vote for themselves.  IMHO, this is a no-brainer, but it will require many brains to move the pigskin over the goal line!

    We can't right now.

24 months of invoices, each column by invoice date. Each column has a "shadow" column with payments made that month. Each invoice line might have 2 or more columns of payments. Hence, each month also has a column for Outstanding Bal (most will be either Inv Amt or 0.)  Column totals for Invoice amt, paid amt, and another calc for DPO. Now you can do significant payables analysis within Excel.

The tie to the GL is irrelevant because you already know the underlying data is complete from period closings. This requirement should be appealed; some newbie auditor is asking just because they can...

Since this is SI output, it is excel, so drill down works.

@Jerry Norman - Any possibility of sharing your report?

FWIW, I posted a request on the Idea website as well.  Please vote in both forums.
