Has anyone come up with a way they get all of the source disks onto a remote computer -- I'm talking about MAS 4.5, Product Updates, FRX, Patches, ETC. I'm thinking of creating a standalone DropBox account that only has MAS upgrade files. Then logging into the server, installing DropBox to sync that data overnight. Then log back in - copy the files. Remove DropBox. Note: This is for customers that are not within driving distance. Anyone work out something different? I'm looking to fully automate getting these disks transferred without having to babysit a file transfer.

Wayne...That is a great idea. Usually we have been just doing the babysit the downloads method.

We should brainstorm on the DropBox contents

So far the issue I'm trying to work around is most remote connections to servers have required JavaScript and getting the IT staff to enable it is sometimes time consuming when the customer is using an outside resource (90% of mine do). I'm working on a boilerplate list of instructions for the IT department: 1. Enable JavaScript on server (and test with whatever login they provided to me) 2. Load Google Chrome (there are more versions of IE on server than I care to worry about and half won't work with SageMAS and the other half don't work with my Basecamp PM).

Primarily I want a DropBox that's ""pure"" -- meaning none of my personal stuff in it -- so that I don't have to worry that by mistake my other customer data is downloaded to a server.... $795/year for up to 5 users on a DropBox Team Plan -- $125/add'l - ""unlimited"" storage - I think the primary benefit would be administrative control over logins? Still thinking. Sugarsync is good but has been unreliable several times for me with large downloads so I am gunshy

I forgot about Sugarsync. They don't have file size limitations do they?

I think once you install software the file size limitation goes away -- though I'd want to check/verify with Drop Box. I'll probably test on my personal DropBox to see if MAS 4.5 will upload. I believe it will. Also I think this would be a unique opportunity for us to create some type of standard file structure for storing ""extra"" stuff on upgrades.. The ability to: 1. Login 2. Load Drop Box 3. Log off And then have all the disks you need for an upgrade be available within a few hours or overnight is a pretty good timesaver. Especially if we have concerns about navigating Atlas. File transfer of 2+/- GB source disks is not terribly fun We could have a ""what's new"" folder that has the latest PDF files and those could all be on the customer's system for review.

Wayne what javascript issue do you have using remote software? We use LogMeIn Rescue with our clients and I don't believe that requires javascript.

I have problems if I try to load Google Chrome (which requires JavaScript to self-update). The reason I use Chrome is that 37 Signals Basecamp is my project tracking and it only uses IE 9 which I don't think is supported by Sage. Common denominator seems to be Chrome which (so far) has let me into most sites... Also DropBox requires JavaScript to download files through the UI though I am not sure if the downloader (software install) that you put on the server does.
