Has anyone come up with a creative solution for the new Oregon Transit Tax for the Sage 100 laggards that have upgraded to the new Payroll.

Thanks Mary Mays! Yep - we did. It's going to be tricky to convert clients using the SDI code moving to the actual Transit Tax category, but we'll just have to deal with it when it happens.

Yes.... I was thinking that too but at least it will collect the tax until their system is upgraded to 2018 (sooner than later!!)

Don't get too excited about that upgrade: We're having a problem now that the State has three mandatory tax withholdings: 1) State Withholding (which isn't a problem), 2) Worker's Benefit Fund Cents per hour worked, and 3) the new Transit Tax. We can't find, in V 2018, where we can put a GL account in for BOTH Worker's Benefit Fund and another one for the Transit Tax...sigh.

Oh Jeez!!! What is Sage Support saying? Does Linda Cade or Weber know about it? I will pile on with a new case.. :)

Received this info from Linda Raby on Friday regarding the GL Account for OR Statewide Transit Tax: ""The Oregon statewide Transit tax withheld is going to post to the GL account defined in Company Tax Group Setup, Employee Other field. If there are other taxes that use that field the taxes will all use the same GL. This should be entered on the Sage City, Ideas forum as an Enhancement needed to keep the taxes separated in the General Ledger. Until it is decided if and when they add that enhancement, I would suggest retaining the employer expense reports or other methods to know what postings are for each tax updating to that account. I will mention your suggestion to engineering but without getting that vote count up from other users, I don't know that this will get as much attention. Sorry to be the messenger of this news.

So is there an Idea Web site posting for this? Seems silly that we have to vote on the enhancement. Should be an automatic fix.
