Has anyone actually tried to process payroll for PA in 2018? Local taxes are not calculating when the employee lives and works in a different locality. I've tried using the test profile Z PA LOCAL EXAMPLE and that doesn't work either.

Make sure you build a tax profile that combines all the needed Tax Groups/Locations and that it is assigned to the employee time entry. Sage said in the Roundtable last week that the Live & Work location fields don't affect the calculation at all.

You cannot use the Z profiles - they were for testing only.

Just hung up with Sage. There is a glitch in the tax calculation server that prevents PA customers from using the local tax codes they way they were intended, ex. defining the Residence and Work local codes in the tax profile. Engineering is working on it - no estimate of when it will be resolved. This is not a Sage program fix but a fix to the actual tax calculation server, which is evidently more involved than a hot fix. Workaround would seem to be to only include the Residence local code in the tax profile and handle the LST as a deduction.
