I have, a long time ago. I think I had to call Sage for new activation keys - this was pre-4.0.

Does that little activate batch file still exist? I want to say it was in the HOME folder. Sometimes if you clicked that you could get the system registered. Might right click and run as Admin while you're at it.

Could this be a Developer ACTIVATE.PVX in the Home/Lib/Keys folder? If so typically the original activate.pvx is simply renamed, and can be renamed back. Or, you could rename the activate.pvx and reinstall MAS 4.40 and the message would be expected to go away.

I just called Mark's client and had them go to Registration and re-click the Activate button and it fixed the problem. Go figure.

This is a developers activation on the system (Big no no for developers if on live customer system). They expire every year and you would get this warning every time you start the session until it is renewed. Replacing the activate.pvx with the customers or re registering would fix the issue. The company shows customer support services. Did sage connect to do something on their system? Maybe they put it on there to get to the source code when they were having an issue.

Actually they discovered a serious bug in SPS that was causing random freezing. Sage spent weeks trying to diagnose the problem and eventually found it. If this is the root of the problem, will what @BethBowers did come back down the road?

@ToddMartin and @KennethPhillips are correct. This problem will not recur again for your client unless a new developer activation key is placed for troubleshooting but hasn't been removed by 6/23/12.

So are you @AlnoorCassim saying if I don't have support put back the right key, in one year, this will recur?

Yes. But they are usually done with it on the same day or within a week. In your case they probably just forgot.

what do they need to do to fix or can we?

See my info above. Normally when you install the developer activate.pvx, you rename the live file to activate.org And when job completed, delete the developer activate.pvx and rename the original back. All done. If the live activate.pvx does not exist, simply reinstall MAS 90 and the file will be there. Beth's activation may actually have fixed it but I don't know. You can fix. Just do what Beth mentioned or you can go through the renaming of files ritual mentioned by Kenneth and Todd.
