    OMG! I once had a customer with an employee that hit the FICA max on the first paycheck. Where did we go wrong?

    Physicians group and Doctors are really frugal. Any money they pay out is less for them.

    ^^ I used to do some financial reporting for a specialty doctor group. Despite each of them earning high 6 / low 7 figures they tracked personal / discretionary expenses to the penny (cars, travel to conferences, etc). I think 1/3 of my time was reporting on this discretionary stuff to be sure that no one doctor was spending more than they were allowed...

    The upside of getting referrals from our CPA partners is that they know how much the client has in the bank, so they can pressure them to pay bills, as in ""Hey, you have $8 million in the bank - pay our bills!

    @WayneSchulz That meticulous and obsessive attention to detail is one of the reasons they are who they are and why they hold on to as much money as they do. And yes, we're all in the wrong careers!

    My favorite comment is saying I'm getting out of this business and buying a bar. If it's the right location and you don't drink the stock, it's a lot more profitable.
