  • 1.  GUMU - Salesforce to Sage 100 Feedback?

    I've seen this GUMU interface promoted for a few years now. Greytrix says it integrates Salesforce to Sage 100.

    Has anyone used it ( or had a customer use it ) and can you provide feedback? 

    I am more curious about how it works than trying to research it for any particular customer.

    Bonus points if you know what GUMU stands for because I don't.

    GUMU stands for Greytrix Universal Migration Utility.  Greytrix refers to all of their integrations as GUMUs.  Sage 100 to SFDC GUMU, Sage X3 to MS 365 GUMU etc. 

    The GUMU for Sage 100 to SFDC is similar to the Sage 100 to Sage CRM GUMU with the following exceptions:
    (1) not updating in real-time,
    (2) doesn't have any of the features added to the Sage 100 GUMU over the past 6 months (Since Feb),
    (3) the GUMU for SFDC is 2x the price.

    The attached Excel file compares the feature sets for the various GUMUs; MS 365, SFDC, Sage X3, Sage 300, Sage 100.   At this time, the Sage 100 GUMU is by far the strongest.

    We have never used the Sage 100 to SFDC GUMU but... I'm sure it is the best option out there (for SFDC).  Greytrix does a ton of SFDC work.

    Here is my experience

     

    We sold it once (maybe twice, cannot remember).


    The product is like any other product meaning it has some great features and normally is missing the one feature that a client wants.

     

    There was at times a language barrier with Greytrix as well as a time-barrier.

    I would agree on the "accent" barrier.  I have worked with them on two clients now (one previously implemented and one currently in progress)  and I frequently have trouble getting through the accent.  :(

    Dan - great explanation. Very helpful.

    CRM-ERP integrations seem to rarely be out-of-the-box affairs. IMO (15 yrs dealing with SalesLogix), it is always a good idea for the customer to engage an expert in integrations for the initial implementation. It might cost more upfront, but it will quickly pay off in user adoption, error correction, and other areas.

    yes agreed.  Most everyone wants something specific to them.  But, with the GUMU we can generally accommodate them.  And because we do a lot of it, those barriers  Douglas mentioned are a non-issue.

    Thanks for posting this @Dan Cousins.  We have one client using Commercient's interface for Sage 100 and SFDC.  They are only using it one way​ from 100 => SFDC but are happy with what it is doing.  They are now looking a what they offer for 2-way integration.  They may be interested in a comparison.

    Your clients do not need to be on the latest version of Sage 100 for this integration to Sage CRM
