Got the following from one of my client's, but have a couple of them with this problem. Anybody found a good solution. I'm assuming third party, but would love to find a MAS solution. Here's their problem: ""We transfer finished goods between distribution points to consolidate deliveries to customers from a single shipping point rather than shipping from multiple locations with a higher shipping cost. Knowing when the in-transit material will be available at the consolidation warehouse allows informing transportation and the customer when pickup and delivery can occur. MAS does not allow for transfer out from a location as a pending transaction meaning transferring from warehouse 500 to warehouse 600 happens when the transaction is made. This does not represent a true picture of material availability. Our current process is to perform the transfer transaction from the source warehouse to an In-Transit warehouse as soon as the request is made to the source warehouse. This gives customer service and transportation visibility of the quantity that is being transferred, but the transfer transaction is performed before the material is picked up. The trucking company informs transportation of the expected delivery to the consolidation warehouse when the material is picked up. The actual delivery date to the consolidating warehouse is not tied to the transfer and customer service has to correlate data external to MAS with the MAS data to try and coordinate delivery to the customer. The transfer from the in-transit warehouse to the delivery warehouse happens when we are notified of the receipt of the material."" Any suggestions?

The last bit about ""correlate data external to MAS"" - would that be in an importable VI job type format? If there is a spreadsheet for example, with a column ""actual delivery date"" could it be used as a filter on a VI to import to IM Transaction Entry, Transfer, so that the last transfer (from the in-transit to consolidation warehouse)?

Sage 500 has this but not Sage 100. You'll need to speak to the WMS providers that have hooks to 100.

Do not do the transfer to the Transfer warehouse until you get a delivery date from the trucking company - then key that delivery date into UDF that flows to the IM_ItemCost - assuming a tiers/lots etc.
