Got the following from F9 tech regarding the SY_company file in an environment with many users. I have a client that uses Sage 100 standard with 25 users and approximately 150 companies. They use F9. Everything runs on an app server and two Citrix terminal servers. They asked F9 if adding processors to the Citrix servers would help and got the following response.
F9 is not a multithreaded application and cannot take advantage of multiple processors at this time, sorry
Regarding Mas90/Sage 100 speed issues - It seems that the sy_company.m4t acts as a ""hub file"" for every user logged into Mas90. Problem is, sy_company.m4t is not creating a separate memory adress for itself based on each login, resulting in a single instance of the file being shared among all users. One of our clients had up to 50 users logged in to Mas90 at any given time; even with F9 completely out of the picture, a simple Mas90 login could take upwards of 30 seconds.
The workaround problem is to write a batch file to copy the data files locally (or in your case, to a separate area) and point F9 to that copy of the data.
Any thoughts on this. TIA
