GL Exchange not seeing mapped drives after upgrade

  • 1.  GL Exchange not seeing mapped drives after upgrade

Sage 100 standard, just upgraded from 2018 to 2021.2, and now GL Exchange cannot see the mapped drive where the files to be imported are stored.  Saved jobs give  "Source file cannot be opened" error, and if you try to create a new one the T: drive does not show up.  Users can get to the T drive and the files in it from Windows Explorer and open the file in Excel just fine.  Comparative screenshot attached.
    Anyone else seen this?

Trying running Sage as an admin and see if that works.

@Tara Schinkel - Great idea but unfortunately not the solution.

Is the Sage client running locally?  If it's running from a different location (through a Citrix published app, for example) then the drive mappings that Sage 100 Standard "sees" would be relative to the Citrix box, not the user's local workstation.  Also, does a UNC path work?

It is in a hosted VM environment - each workstation is a separate VM, and workstation setup was installed on each of them.  It was working correctly in 2018, but the mapped drive doesn't show up in 2021.2.  When I log in with my admin credentials and set up the drive mapping for my account, it does show up, but not for any of the users, even when launching Sage 100 via Run As Administrator in the shortcut.

For Advanced / Premium, we believe it runs from the perspective of the server (so UNC is required... no mapped drives), but that shouldn't apply to Standard.  Odd.

There was a documented/known issue of something similar with this when saving PDF files from within Sage 100 when previewing/printing reports. The fix involved a registry hack to resolve it. I'm stuck in meetings right now so I can't go looking for it but I'm sharing with you guys in case someone has time to go digging for it. The exact issue was running Sage as admin, previewing a report and then trying to export, all the mapped drives are gone. This could be a similar situation. Doesn't matter version of Sage - we've seen this on Standard and Advanced.

I actually haven't seen this one before. The one I used was a reporting issue with saving PDF files and it was a registry hack related to it. However, does this article work for you?

We know there is a path character limit.  Make sure you aren't running into that.

Since this is standard, can I assume there is no "service" account running which would also  need permissions to the folders?

I am not a GL Exchange aficionado, so I may be way off base.  But this sounds like a similar issue I've experienced with positive pay imports.  If I select the path field and change to the correct path (from default), then go to the file field and find the import file, Sage returns an error as well.  I finally stumbled on leaving the path field untouched, selecting the file name field, navigate to the path/file field and everything was fine in Denmark.  Worth a long shot.

So, it is the same issue with Exporting Reports when opening Sage 100 via Run As Administrator.  You can move this out of Urgent.
