  • 1.  GL Exchange Budget Import - Missing Periods

    I have a very simple Excel file with budget amounts for periods 1 thru 12. Everything imports except the amounts for periods 11 and 12. The fiscal year is calendar 2019. This is version 2018.5. Has anyone encountered this situation?

    Do you get any messages on the log? 

    Check that periods 11 and 12 are values and not formulas. Add a column 13 with zeros.

    I start with an export of a blank budget and ask customers to fill it out with values, leaving the columns (including column for period 13) intact.  It's OK to remove rows.  We save as CSV and do the import. I haven't had any issues with doing it this way, but then again, I haven't tried it on V2018.5.

    I just had this a few weeks ago, and we re-typed the dollar amount for Period 12 (in our case) and everything imported fine.  We picked that file apart and found nothing wrong with it.
    This was not on 2018 or 2019, probably 2017.

    I discovered late yesterday that the customer left out the description and type fields from the spreadsheet that they were 'actually' importing. Putting those in fixed the problem. Thanks, @Rhonda McNamara.​
