    Hello all,

    I created a VI import for Beginning Balances, however when selecting General Journal Entry I received an error message, The object GL_GeneralJournal_bus does not exist. 

    Sage reviewed the error and said the program is corrupted and I would need to reinstall 2018 PU5 and all enhancements.

    Does anyone have any other suggestions to clear this error?

    The client is on 2018 PU5 Premium with some Scanco enhancements.

    Kinda confused what you are saying - Are you saying you created a JE import (which just happens to be fore BB's) and the import does not work?  Did you delete that VI and start from scratch (not importing it, but rekeying it)?  Do other non JE imports work?  IF you have to reinstall, why not go with 2021 as 2018 is probably about to be kicked to the curb via Sage Support this yeaer?  OR is this just for a new company within the existing installation?

    It is wise to be asking as Sage's support sometimes falls to a restore/reinstall situation.  Maybe one of the resident gurus @Alnoor Cassim or @Kevin Moyes or @David Speck II can lend a hand.

    Do you have older backups? Have you tried just restoring that file it is looking for?

    The problem turned out to be a related file GL_GeneralJournalDetail_bus.pvc (the Detail business object / class file) was missing from the GL folder. Go figure.
