  • 1.  Getting fields to align properly in Crystal

    I added a formula field to the AR Aging, and, for the life of me, can't get the fields to align (Right justify).

    I made them the same width and "aligned rights".  I even tried adding a guideline, but even with all fields snapped to the guideline, the right edges of the fields in the details won't align with the footer fields.  What is the secret?

    Select all the fields, right-click, select Align Rights.  The alignment will be based on the last field selected. 

    I never use the grid lines, I find them annoying.  :)

    Make sure the negative sign is on the same side of the number in their fields vs your new field, or () vs -

    Format painter can help with numeric format issues (like the negative sign on the right), and I use the ruler tab stops for alignment (which allow you to resize multiple fields very easily, with a red mark for fields anchored to a tab stop).

    Thanks for all the tips.  I realized the numeric style of the details field was different from the group summaries.  Changing the format of the details field to match the summaries solved my problem.
