Generating a PO from an SO - have a client who has

Generating a PO from an SO - have a client who has orders brought in via WebsitePipeline and can't generate POs from them. Or at least some of them (have to nail that down yet). I thought the only thing you had to have on the line was the vendor number and that was it. Does anyone know what else it may be looking for that is preventing it from generating a PO? Says No Data Selected.

The dropship must be turned on and the inventory item must have a primary vendor. At least that's what I recall.

Yeah, you can do non-dropships, too, but the vendor is the only thing I can recall, too. I'm wondering if there is some field I can't see OR some field that is not intuitively associated with a PO.

Beth, check the default settings in thePO module, main menu Autogenerate from SO task. I would expect some settings there preventing a PO creation. Those settings are tied to the creation from SO. Sent from my cell phone. Please forgive any misspellings.

See, here's the thing. If I have a web-generated SO, I can't do a PO. If I create the exact same item with the exact same customer on a new SO, I can.

Beth, Make sure there isn't anything in the PurchaseOrderNo$ or PurchaseOrderRequiredDate$ fields, That would stop the PO from being created. When I run into something like this, I typically enter the exact same order/line manually then go into DFDM and look there to see what is different between the one I entered and the imported one. In your case I would start with and focus on the line detail. but it could potentially be something in the header record.

Yeah, I'm just going to have to do a dump of all of the fields. I messed with payment methods, shipvia, - pretty much the exact same order. SIGH.

Is ODBC Security enabled? If so, perhaps a flag is not getting set during the import? If the import uses a specific user ID, can you manually create an order and generate a PO with that user?

OK, so in case any of you ever tun into it - the Order Status field was not getting set on the imported orders. It LOOKED like it was because it still displayed as New, but it was blank.

So what version was this? And was the import via BOI or VI?

4.5 and it's actually from WebsitePipeline, so BOI.

You'd think it would throw an error when a required field isn't set.
