FYI. Sage released product updates yesterday for 4.5, 2013, 2014 and 2015. In order to install the update you have to enter your new unlocking keys even if they are already entered. It does a validation against a payroll subscription expiration date and if your payroll subscription has expired it disables the payroll module. Funny how our reseller keys have an expired payroll subscription date so we can't install the product updates and still have access to the payroll module to do demos. I did test the keys on one of our client's who uses payroll and it does give a valid expiration date of 4/30/16.

I did a test 2016 Standard install after retrieving what I thought were the new product keys from the Activation page on the customer portal. Needless to say my payroll module use will expire in 6 days. Very frustrating. Our keys are reseller keys therefore I would imagine there should be no expiration date for payroll, even thought Sage is still trying to figure out what they're doing with this payroll subscription model.

Is the payroll subscription part of Sage's annual maintenance bill? So, if you are current on maintenance, do you have a valid payroll subscription?

just did a brand new install and it tells me that payroll has an INVALID Expiration Date. Hoppy, hoppy, joy, joy.

It appears that Sage did not include payroll subscription expiration dates for resellers. For clients at least it appears that if they were current on maintenance they have an expiration date of 4/30/16 which if you recall is the date they have said they will be rolling out the payroll tiers.

This is going to be a nightmare. I hope Sage has extra payroll support staff for this mess.

Installed PU 3 on a Sage 100 2015 system which did NOT have PR - no prompt for keys

LOL LOL LOL She just had to go get a ""senior"" something (died away without being specific) - she just tried my keys and apparently had the same thing happen. Gonna be a long day, sweetie.

And so the fun begins. I emailed the sales advisors to ask why our partner unlocking keys don't work. Let's see what type of answer we get from them since obviously there are communication issues at Sage

100c - c is for communication! Seriously - they had 26 letters to choose from and they picked the ONE LETTER that will cause the most confusion (AAAAH - C = Confusion!). Permahold now. Chickens running about with their heads cut off at the other end.

Scheduled call back since I have another phone conference to go to..

The ultimate resolution was to issue new registration keys to replace the ""new"" registration keys they issued on 11/4/15. This gave us a value in the Payroll expiration date field.

I experienced this same thing when installing on our demo system. I was able to get it to work by re-activating the **old** keys in System Configuration then activating again with the new keys.

If you go into system configuration and modules tab does it give you an expiration date of 4/30/2016 or later?

@TimEfinger Yes there is. It took me a minute to realize there's a new field on that screen. It shows 4/30/2017.

Thanks Bill. It appears they just made a mistake when they generated our keys. There's another new field on that screen as well. Let's hope neither of those fields get used but my sense is that is extremely hopeful thinking about the payroll tiers.

What @BillPfahnl did worked for me, too after my keys were ""invalid"".

Yikes, what a way to spend Black Friday. Just spent the past hour pulling out my remaining hair trying to install v2016. Invalid unlocking keys. Tried entering them several different ways. No luck. Tried entering v2015 keys that worked. No luck. Tracked down my Sage email and keyed the identical keys. No Luck. Stewed about the situation. No luck. Starting downloading the install EXE when I realized I was using the wrong customer key. What luck. Moved past the install panel. Cooking with gas. Now we are moving. Deleted the newly downloaded EXE as that was no longer needed. Install errors out. Corrupted install DVD. WTF. Recovered the recently deleted EXE. Go back to beginning. Ground Hogs day Deja vu. Black Friday shopping is looking mighty tempting at this point. What a waste of a completely good morning!!!!!
