FWIW, Aatrix had a booth at Summit (remember the loud pants). Since tax season is just around the corner, I thought I would post his contact information. He seemed to be willing to help out, but most of our issues will probably be Sage's responsibility. As an example, for Iowa state reports, the form number also appears in the description field. When I brought this to his attention, he said that that was a mapping issue and that they had fixed it on their end, but Sage hadn't. Looking now at v2013, it has finally been fixed. In any event, it may be useful to have a point of contact, so here it is. Bruce Senti New Market Manager 2600 Library Circle Grand Forks, ND 58201 701.746.6801 Ex 176 Bruces@aatrix.com

@JeffSchwenk Thanks! Also, will we will be able to print the ""old"" W-2's for the 2014 filing season or is Aatrix the only option now. I am not sure when the old W-2's go away - is it the 2014 filing season or the 2015 filing season.

From the 2012 year end info from Sage: The Tax Filing Year 2013 is the final year Sage will maintain and support the 1099 form in Accounts Payable, the W-2 and 941 forms in Payroll and the Electronic Reporting (formerly Magnetic Media) module. As of Tax Filing Year 2014, customers will be able to print and/or eFile 250+ signature ready State and Federal tax forms from within the Sage 100 ERP integration to State and Federal eFiling and Reporting, powered by Aatrix, additional fees apply for eFiling services only.

@BarbRippberger What I am confused about is when they say ""Tax Filing Year 2013"" are they referring to this year or next year. We file the 2013 W-2's in 2014 so the way I interpret this is that we will be able to use the ""old"" W-2's one more year. Is that how you see it?

@JohnLeonard That is what my interpretation is. We will be able to print them this year (in 2014, but for filing year 2013), but then have to use Aatrix next year. And also be prepared to use Aatrix for 941's and any other relevant quarterly forms starting in first quarter 2014.

@BarbRippberger OK thanks. Just wanted to be sure my thinking was correct.

With the regular standard W-2 and 1099 Printing in Sage 100 that's soon going away (which requires purchasing the preprinted forms), will these forms still need to be purchased if printing them from Aatrix/e-Filing? Or will Aatrix print the entire Form?

You need to buy government copy of 1099s. I buy blank perforated pages for employee/vendor copies of 1099s and W-2s (same form for both). The employer copy of 1099s and W-2s print on plain paper.

Aatrix prints the entire W-2 for the employee. You do need to buy blank perforated paper though. Aatrix will print the fine print or you can buy the blank front with the wording on the back.
