FRX - I successfully upgraded my customer from 4.50 to 2014 on a new Windows 2012 server, and even managed to get FRx 6.7.11 installed and working on it, which I thought was nothing short of a miracle. The workstation clients take *hours* to run the FRx reports because of the customer's infrastructure. This was the same with the old server and version 4.50. I suggested that the two people who need FRx simply remote into the new server and run FRx. The IT staff want me to install the FRx client on the Citrix server. This should be no different than the client installs on the PC's, but I can't get it to install. I'm using a mapped drive, Z:\FRx Software\FRx 6.7\SysData, but it says this folder does not contain FRx program files. However, that is where they are. I am befuddled. (Before anyone jumps on me, they are using SI also. I'm trying to make them let go.)

see if you can access through a different workstation that is still looking at the old version and trying exporting the specification set and then try importing back into the new installation

That's what I did to get FRx working on the new server and with one workstation.

I mean a workstation that already had the FRx client on it.

If doing a client install, I generally use a UNC path but you also need to change the FRxClient.cfg (in client setup folder) to reference all UNC paths which may cause a problem with your other client installs of FRx (you may need to uninstall, install them again with the UNC path). Where is it asking you for the mapped drive? Are you sure you're not too deep and it should be only to FRx 6.7?

I'm putting the mapped drive path in the ""Choose Destination Location"" screen. The documentation says we can either use UNC or mapped. Nancy, your question led me to discover that FRx isn't installing the client piece on the server, and it won't, no matter what I do. So I guess it really isn't installing completely and correctly.

When you installed, did you select to install the client setup portion on the server - it doesn't install by default? Maybe uninstall, reinstall doing a custom install and make sure all check boxes are checked for the options to install. Install the service pack (I thought there was a service pack 12 available). Register the product. Change the frxclient.cfg paths to be UNC and run a client setup on the workstations.

Did you ever get this working?

Hi, Nancy. Not yet, but I haven't been able to try your last suggestion. I'll let you know what happens!

Nancy, we decided to not try the uninstall/reinstall. Since the two users only need FRx for a few minutes once a month, the IT staff are allowing direct access to the new server. It's fast, and not a problem so far. My thanks to all who responded!
