From the ""hidden"" knowledgebase: Resolution ID 539609. Background: I just installed MAS 90 4.4.0.7 on a new laptop and migrated the system files and company data from a backup location. Migration bombed during the ""Processing Post-migration merge"" step. The resolution is to login to the source MAS 90 system as the built-in MAS admin and turn off the Sage Product Enhancement participation. I couldn't get to it when searching the KB by myself. Got it as a no-charge case. Here are the details: Resolution Details TITLE : System files failed to convert with the following error: Error updating SY_SagePEPTrack: PHYSICAL UPDATE ABORT: SY_SagePEPTrack when running Parallel Migration DETAILS : INFORMATIONAL ** THIS INFORMATION HAS NOT BEEN VERIFIED ** System files failed to convert with the following error: Error updating SY_SagePEPTrack: PHYSICAL UPDATE ABORT: SY_SagePEPTrack - X:\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_SagePEPTrack.M4T is currently open. Thanks, This begs the question - What is everyone doing with the PEP enhancement? Are you reviewing it with management or turning it off automatically or leaving it on with no mention to management?

Further proof that any ""phone home' programs that are not OPT IN should be considered malware...

Good question, Jeff. What are you doing with it?

I thinking of turning it off and informing management in writing that it has been turned off.

I now incorporate this link in an e-mail to company management advising them of the PEP program. I ask that they let me know whether or not they want to continue this voluntary participation. http://www.sagemas.com/MAS_90_and_200_survey

What's also odd is you can't turn it off during install (at least not that I saw) -- you have remember to go back in post installation to flip the switch.
