Sage ain't messing with any subscription margins after year one. Unless a customer demands subscription you'd be an idiot to sell it at 20%. Just lease it Sent from my iPad HD On Apr 9, 2012, at 6:36 AM, ""Wayne Schulz"" <share@socialcast.com<mailto:share@socialcast.com>> wrote:

If I read this right it seems you really only need to sell 2 units per year Q. Are the sales cumulative across the initial semester and the cure period? A. No. If a partner does not meet the minimum two-unit requirement in a given semester, then they will have another six months to sell two units or $25k in New License revenue during the cure period. They do not have to make up the two units from the prior semester. They only have to sell two units during the cure period. Also note that there is no impact on a partner's on-going subscription margin during the cure period. This gives the partner a full year to sell two units in either of the two semesters before their margin would be impacted.

Or is it two units in a single semester/cure period? If you sell one in the first semester and one in the second, it sounds like you do not qualify. ""This gives the partner a full year to sell two units in either of the two semesters

Anyone run a scenario where a customer (existing, past or future) saw a benefit to Sage's subscription? The only scenario I'm close to seeing as reasonable is the per user pricing. Sage needs to either: a. Back down the subscription so that the annual cost is relatively close to on perpetual. b. Eliminate perpetual (comparison gone - problem solved) Most customers are savvy enough to run these comparison numbers and they know to ask about future maintenance costs. The comments here are hilarious. If Sage put half the effort into R&D....
