Form and Report printing combining data from previous selections This is happening at 2 clients installed at version 2014 PU3. I am at a loss to know what the cause of this problem is. The client is experiencing this with everything Crystal they print. Example 1 - SO Invoice Printing They have 1 batch with 2 invoices. While in SO Invoice Entry, in the first invoice they click Quick Print and preview the invoice. They close out of the preview. They advance to the next invoice # in the same batch and click Preview and it prints the first invoice AND the second invoice. I have tested this with the STANDARD form, so it is not a form issue. Example 2 - GL Detail Report They select 1 account number to print they print to preview. Exit out of Preview and select a different, single account number. The GL Detail Report then prints both accounts, even though there is only one account number selected on the screen. What I have determined is that the WRK file is being added to each time, instead of a new WRK file being created. It happens to the client from their workstation; it happens to me when on their server, so it is not isolated to a workstation.

Could be the Crystal work files need to be re-initialized.

More on this ... I just tested reinitializing all wrk files in the GL module; I also deleted all wrk files from the company GL data directory (the ones that are supposed to delete with the user code, date, etc). When I try printing the GL detail report again by using 2 different account number selections, the problem is the work file does not get cleared -- it gets added to. So it appears to be some sort of network permissions issue where the file does not get deleted ... anybody out there know what sort of network setting might be in place to cause these temporary work files not to delete?

Could the printing job be hanging so that it doesn't get to the point of reinitializing the work file? antivirus?

There is no evidence of the print job hanging (because we are previewing) .. I just checked their VIPRE AV and it appears there are no exclusions for MAS90 .. but I will check with their IT. This problem does not happen for all users. So, it may very well be an AV issue. I don't know how many times AV runs interference with MAS ... and how many times you tell an IT group to exclude the MAS90 directory on the server and on the workstations. UGH. Thanks all for the advice.

@JaneScanlan - this is exactly what Nicole and I are seeing at our clients. Mine is only happening on some new machines recently installed, and appeared at first to be a rights issue but full control did not resolve. You can watch the WRK files delete when one user prints and NOT delete when another does.

@BethBowers and @NicoleRonchetti wow that is good to know that someone else is experiencing this .. but of course not good for the clients. Can you tell me if it is happening on JobOps or non-JobOps installations?

@BethBowers good I am glad it is not a JobOps issue. I've posted this issue in Sage City, logged a support ticket and have contacted the client to get with their IT group regarding their AV settings. I will post an update on what I hear back from any of those sources.

This is possibly related to server opportunistic locking.

@JaneScanlan and @NicoleRonchetti - my client is reporting success but does not know the exact cause. The machines were new machines from Dell and had something new download from Dell. He wiped them clean, reloaded Win 7 64 and Sage and now does not have any problems.

Any chance the Crystal reports in question were saved with data?? If so, clear the flag and resave. Extreme WAG.

@JaneScanlan and @NicoleRonchetti - client did NOT have success after all, but appears to be closer now. They were having 2 issues on the same machine - export from Crystal with Subreport issue that is solved by the Crystal update, and Work file issues with Work file not being deleted. IT thinks at this time that the Crystal update may cause the issue. He had to load Visual Studio as part of the Crystal fix and is making sure that did not cause the issue, but at this time it APPEARS that you take a workstation that has the Crystal issue and you load VS - all still works OK. Then you load the Crystal SU and while Crystal export now works, the Work file issue now comes up.

Also I noticed that the original Crystal Export issue said to use the executable from SAP, while the slow printing fix from @PhilMcIntosh called for the 32 bit MSI. ???????

Environment related to permissions. User may not have the permission to Delete within the MAS90 sub-folders. Install SAP CR Runtime Service Pack 12 -- (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824)

@BethBowers I think you are onto something ... I DID install that Crystal service pack to the user's machine about a month ago because she couldn't export a Crystal Report with a subreport. And I did install it at the server as well. I'm going to uninstall that at the server and test Crystal Printing and see if that SP is the culprit.

UGH. I've uninstalled the service pack, uninstalled Crystal Reports (at the server where I am testing), reinstalled the Sage workstation, even deleted the Registry entry for Crystal Reports and no differences - the 2 print jobs still merge. Still waiting to hear back from the client on their VIPRE AV settings.

My client seemed to have success using Crystal SU 13 instead of 12. He took out Crystal SU 12 and Visual Studio, then reinstalled VS and Crystal SU 13 and appears to have success. He did not uninstall Crystal 12, actually - he did a restore to a point before installing it.
