For those of you who have taken the Sage CRM certification class, can you explain something to me please? Did you have to take the week long online class before testing? From what @BethBowers wrote earlier this week, it didn't seem like it but maybe I mis-interpretted it. It's coming up because an Accpac partner that I'm working with suggested that he had to take the class and I was a little confused...

Peter - This isn't the Sage CRM certification. This is the MAS90/MAS200 Application Consultant - Sage CRM cert. It is a baby cert and is certainly not designed to make you feel you can do much in CRM, but you can at least get it installed and a few basics setup. The biggest gain is that it lets you call in with a CRM question in case the reseller who supports your client's CRM isn't available.

Ok ... that's what I thought. I think if he takes the week long class, it won't meet his requirement as an Application Consultant.

@BethBowers - Here's what I was sent that lists that Accpac folks need to take the 5 day class AND take the anytime course AND take the test to meet the Application Consultant requirements. Are you 100% sure that MAS consultants don't have that same requirement? Sorry if I seem like I'm doubting it just seems so bizarre that Sage would split it so that MAS requirements would be one thing and Accpac requirements would be another thing for the same piece of the puzzle. It makes my head spin.

@PeterWolf, you are assuming that Sage acts rationally and as one company...

Maybe since Accpac is the fair haired child these days, they are being held to a higher standard...........

Actually, the Accpac requirement is what it always was (at least back to 2008), and they made it easier on the MAS side but didn't change the Accpac side.

Seems to me like the week long course was required when the EES version first came out, because I think I tried to sign up for it when they first offered it (for free) and they wouldn't let me because I wasn't a reseller, just a consultant. Now that CRM is no longer optional, maybe they thought they had to dumb it down or they would have wiped out half what remaining MAS resellers they have left... I don't know. I just know what Sage told me I still needed to take.

I took the week long class to keep my CRM certification. If you have any knowledge of CRM, or have taking any admin training at all, it's a breeze. The online classroom is only about 3 hours a day at the most for 3 days. I skipped 75% of it after listening for a bit the first day. 4th day is an optional lab and 5th is the test. I finished the test while taking calls in 2 hours or less.
