I believe it is one - but never fear back at version 4.3 someone thought to ask for a batch feature. Ability to have a Batch Entry Option in Physical Count Entry. Entry Type: Enhancement Request Product: Sage MAS 90 ERP Sage MAS 200 ERP Application: Inventory Maintenance Version Reported: 4.30 Status: This request is being reviewed by Sage Engineering. Subject: Ability to have a batch entry option in Physical Count Entry. Currently, one user can enter physical count entries at a time without the use of batches. Business Reason: Companies with large inventories could use the option to have multiple data entry users entering counts into MAS 90 at the same time by using separate batches. Possible Workaround: None.

My guess is that the workaround is to use VI after consolidating counts

Limit is one per warehouse without a warning. Multiple users can be in the same warehouse if they bypass the ""If you enter counts for the same item code and warehouse as another user the last count entered will overwrite previous counts.

The refresh on the physical count entry screen can be problematic when moving to another page of items with multiple users in the same warehouse. Not sure how long they are waiting before the determine it's ""locked"" but I have heard it can take 5 minutes or more. One other option would be to use the count card entry feature. Each user can enter their own count card with their items on it, the system consolidates them and updates to physical count entry. The drawback to this is the item number has to be keyed in along with the count.

I believe Card Count Entry is the answer for you @alanniergarth , but maybe next time as you need to purchase the numbered cards. From Sage 100 Help: Use Count Card Entry to enter physical count information by count card. After entering all of your physical count information, print the Missing Count Card Listing to determine if any cards have not been entered. Click the Defaults button to open the Default Values for Count Card Entry window, which allows you to enter default values, such as the default warehouse. ==> Multiple users can access this task simultaneously to enter data for different count card numbers. <== After entering physical count information, print the Count Card Report to view the entries and print the Count Card Variance Register. You will then see a message asking if you want to update the count card data to Physical Count Entry. After the update, use Physical Count Entry to make adjustments to the count card data or to add additional physical count information. Note You must purchase preprinted count cards from a third-party vendor. Note The system does not check whether the Inactive Item check box in Item Maintenance is selected for items included when processing a physical count.

Entering data into Excel, consolidating the lines with a pivot table is a very optimal way of dealing with this. Once the data is in a pivot table (to consolidate multiple lines of the same item), you can compare the count totals to the on hand totals (exported out of the frozen physical file) to troubleshoot variance before uploading into Sage. Very fast and efficient. Had a client that took weeks to finish the process. With the above process, they are done in five hours.
