I emailed Alnoor about how much knowledge I needed for the script class and this is what he said in case anyone had questions about taking the classike I did.
No previous knowledge of scripting or programming is needed but it certainly helps. What's needed more is a knack or orientation towards in these 2 areas:
1) Knowing MAS business logic itself. This is what you do already everyday. E.g. you can't create a new customer in MAS without having a Salesperson Code even though that field isn't part of the the key. Or that on a sales order, the Ship Date header because the default Promise Date on the line. Or on an SO as soon as you a CustomerNo in, the tax sch, salesperson, term code, etc defaults in from the customer record.
2) Logic - Here's a way to describe that
If you've done some advanced V/I jobs involving several temp fields, calculation expressions, conditional expressions
OR even better some Crystal Reports using shared variables with subreports, and felt fairly comfortable with that
Then you are a good candidate for Scripting class.
