I am going to reconvert a clients payroll 2.0 after the test.  They have about 250 Tax Schedules.  What files can I recycle after migration from the test install to make my life easier.  I know there was a post but I could use some education on searching the new partner center because I can't seem to find anything.

    Larry,

Take a look at my notes. I did not do the MAS_SYSTEM files since on re-conversion I typically just copy the MAS_XXX / PRXXX.

Do you have to pull these prior to completing conversion?  Am I reading your notes properly?

Pull them before you reconvert. Reconvert. Copy them back in.

Save everything you copy over just in case.

I didn’t discover the textout trick until one of my later reconversions. I can’t recall if it completely saved me from re-mapping or not.

Don’t miss any custom Crystal Reports that people might have buried on their desk or hanging off then Custom menus. Those all need to have the PII table added and recreated or you won’t get data.

I just read your highlighted comment to lead me believe the files might be cleared during completing of the first conversion.

It may be but I seem to remember being able to pull them out before starting the final migration ( re-convert ). IIRC, they are overwritten when you start the conversion/migration.

One note about custom payroll reports hanging on people's desktops - they will HAVE to be added to the Custom menus in Sage to get any data - no more having local copies run outside of Sage 100.

I make a copy of the MAS90 directory before migrating for live conversion.  Once you convert the live, then you can go grab the files from your backup copy and put them into place.  There are MAS_System files and MAS_xxx company files.  If your companies are in states with an add'l state tax (MN Workforce Employer Tax) then add the PR_CompanyTaxGroupOther to the list.  It's the Add'l Tab in State.
