I see quite a few requests for various installation packages/updates/documents.

Does 90Minds have the storage capacity to have a library of these things?

With the depth of experience around here, I bet we could come up with a near complete library of these things.

It would certainly save users the time of requesting and waiting if there was a central repository to check first, and if what they are looking for isn't there, the user who does have it could upload it rather than attaching to the particular message.

Just an idea from a fng.

I'm not sure what the current status is but we've used Dropbox in the past and quite frankly most people did not connect or contribute to keeping Dropbox updated. We received just as many requests when we were maintaining Dropbox as we seem to now.

I think that is what the Library here is for... which would be more useful if the search feature is improved to show one result per thread (vs filling the results with repeats for each reply).
And of course, people have to know what to search for...

@Kevin Moyes if you select "Discussion Thread" on the left you will only see the discussions, not the individual posts. In the previous screenshot there are 9931 entries, but 3711 threads that have the term File Layout for example.

Higher logic does have a library (https://community.90minds.com/browse/communitylibraries) although I am not sure what are limitations are for file size and overall library size. When searching you can limit it to library entries... but there isn't really a structure. @Robert Wood or @Moira Goggin may know if there there is a way to organize files, and those limitations.

I prefer dropbox or similar that lets me sync it to my desktops ( Windows, MAC ). I'd probably even kick in a couple hundred a year if that source also included the latest releases of popular third-party solutions like Avalara and Starship, etc. That would be a great benefit but I think it only has value to me if it's updated very regularly. Otherwise, I can just search for myself.

There are two types of libraries that we are using in Higher Logic.

Community Libraries - hold the file/content shared in posts to that community. When creating new discussion thread and clicking the "upload file" button to add a file/link or other resources, the resource is held in a library associated with the community.  You can search libraries too and download or view contents.

Resource Libraries - Libraries for sharing specific content not associated with a discussion community are held in Resouce Libraries.  We have a resource library for example, for Meeting of The Minds.  You can locate Resouce Libraries by selecting Browse, Resource Libraries.

DropBox - 90 Minds has maintained a DropBox account with many of the downloads specific to Sage 100 versions dating back many years.  This resource is moving to Higher Logic and will become a Resource Library.  We are working to overcome a file size limit in Higher Logic that prevents files larger than 1 GB from being uploaded and may end up retaining DropBox and providing links in the HL Resource Library for those larger files.
