  • 1.  FIFO UDF to Invoice detail to Inventory Transaction history

    Hi All
        Have a client that will not use Lot Costing.  What they are doing now is importing inventory transfer transactions and in the transaction detail they have added a UDF Lot.  They now want this UDF to go to the SO Invoice transactions and then down to Inventory Transaction history.  I am struggling to figure out how to do this or if it is even possible.  The part I get stuck on is getting the UDF from Item Cost into the invoice detail line.  I am able to select LotSerialNo in SO Invoice Tier Distribution but I am not sure if that will map from the FIFO tiers.   

       Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    I'm not sure it is possible. if you are using FIFO as the valuation method a single line on an invoice could pull from multiple FIFO tiers. AR invoice history captures Lot/Serial tiers but it does not capture FIFO or LIFO tiers.

    I have a customer that uses a "MASTER_PACK" field that is essentially a lot number.  You should be able to map it from IM_ItemCost to SO_InvoiceTierDistribution.

    Hi All,

       I found that this is not possible with a FIFO item.  Nothing is written to SO_TierDistribution for FIFO items.  I am trying to pull in the lot # that exists in IM_ItemCost into the invoice so that it gets written to IM_ItemTransacitonHistory .  It appears it will require a script.

    Ahhh.  I see your issue.  Unlike serial and lot tiers, FIFO and LIFO tiers are auto distributed so they don't use SO_TierDistribution.  The customer in the example I provided uses serial valuation so they tie the Master_Pack (lot) UDF to a serial tier.
