A new reporting requirement will be coming due for Payroll users to report FICA Pay by 1/5/2026. Will Sage be providing a report for this requirement, or do you think it is up to the partner to design this report and provide it to their clients?
What You Need to Do:
To help identify impacted participants, each agency must submit an annual FICA Pay Report after completing their final payroll of the year. This report must include:
- All employees (including non-participants and terminated employees who worked during the year)
- Total FICA wages for the prior year
File Format:
SSN, EMPLOYEE ID, FICA PAY YEAR, FICA PAY AMOUNT
Example: 123-45-6789,987654321,2025,150000.00
Key Deadlines:
- Submit the FICA Pay Report no later than the fifth business day of January, starting in 2026.
- Alight will consolidate data across agencies and notify each agency by the tenth business day of January if any employees exceed the limit. Impacted participants will also be notified directly.
