I wanted to update you on communications regarding the date change for the conference.
On Monday - which was my chosen day off - I received an urgent message from a member that their hotel reservation had been canceled and they asked was the conference was canceled. I then realized the hotel had canceled reservations before the new contract was completed. There were 7 room reservations. At this point, negotiation of the contract was completed. But it was pending Krista's final review and we had not signed it. The Hotel had not yet provided the rooming list which I requested on 12/24.
Then as to be expected, Doug Higgs posted publically on 90 Minds (rather than email me), and I had no choice but to get a message up at the last minute. I was unable to roll out the change of dates as expected or in the order, I would have liked to do. My plan was to contact sponsors and hotel reservations first then roll out a public announcement.
OK so with all of that being shared, I have connected with most sponsors and several members at this point. I have only received one complaint from someone who said he is not going because we moved the date because of a lack of desire to travel in May.
Everything else has been really positive and encouraging. I have had several emails and I think overall the response is right where we want it to be.
I am confident the right decision was made. Thank you for your comments and support throughout this process.
