Hey @Alan Clark I brought it up with @Jerry Norman but he was just getting back from some travels, likely he'll get to it soon.

However, so you know @Alan Clark if you start typing '@' and at least three letters of the first name (no spaces between @ and name) a list of '@' mention names should pop up and you can select one.  This is particularly useful when you need to draw attention to a request for feedback, for example:  (highlighting is useful too)

Hey Directors, did you see @Alan Clark post about a Baord Meeting post MOTM?  We need to make a  firm desicsion if we meet Sunday March 1, 2020.  I know that @Jim Woodhead is traveling to #Intacct conference later in the day, but there are still 5 of us @Jerry Norman @Robert Wood @Karen O'Lane, plus Alan and me that could be there for a meeting.  It's pretty important to have this meeting since new #Officers of the board would be selected at that time, post the Annual Meeting Saturday 2/29 where the membership votes in the two new board members for the 2020 through 2023 term.  A short 1-2 hour meeting may be easy to fit into the schedule and still make a flight on Sunday.  So what do you think?

I had to let this stew a bit in my head. We need two 2 meetings/yr to adequately consider the more convoluted questions we still have to grapple with. From a cost perspective, it makes lots of sense to have one of those at the same time at MOTM. IMO, we should pretty much expect one in March and one in early Sept.

The only question to me is whether we make this a full-day meeting or 1 1/2 days. If it's full-day, at least 2, probably 3, of us won't be able to leave until Monday because of time zones. We can survive missing one Board member for this; it won't be the last time.

I lean toward having this one Sunday and 1/2 Monday. Here's why.
    - We'll be taking into consideration results from MOTM and the January Acumatica Summit and other Acumatica results.
    - We need to address the spring Sage Summit.
    - If we want to make the Academy progress, there will be significant results and questions to address.
    - We need to start discussing how we find Moira's replacement. Her term runs through March 2021, but that means we like need to make an offer by Fall 2020. So March is right on top of that.
    - IMO, we will recognize by 1Q20 that we need to address the group's marketing to current members and to the outside world. We have virtually no strategy for that yet.

I think we need the time on Monday to do this, but we consider just Sunday. What are your thoughts, all?

Sunday/Monday 1 1/2 day meeting makes sense if the prep isn't too much for the ED/pres in the lead up to MotM and we aren't all pretty much exhausted after MotM.

I agree with @Robert Wood; we are usually pretty spent by the end of Saturday.

The reason we moved to 2 in-person meetings for the Board each year was to get away from the added burden of a big Board meeting on top of our big annual event.  We have an in-person board meeting in May at Sage Summit and one August/September too.  Let's keep a post-MOTM meeting simple . We have a regular board meeting on Thursday March 5, 2020, also.

    PS.
We have no marketing strategy?  We have some, as much as we can, under the current setup.  But I have no budget to manage marketing, yet :)

We have an in person meeting at Sage Summit scheduled? First I recall hearing that. My memory isn't infallible but I'd think i'd recall that.

I recall talking about as we were disucssing having a booth at Sage Summit and that the board would likely all be there.

I remember discussing it and coming up with a recommendation of pegging the board meeting to either the Sage or Acumatica Summit but that isn't exactly definitive as to what we will do.

I still think it's a good idea and the Sage Summit is probably the best one to do it at since it's more likely most of us will be at that one anyway.
@Jerry Norman it probably makes sense to have a quick meeting on Sunday after MotM. We will have to decide on Sage Summit activities before that.

I am fine with either option from a timing standpoint.  If we are going to do it as a part of Summit, so that we don't run into the same "exhaustion", should we hold it the day before Summit rather than the day after?

I'll always vote for after since we'd then have an 'immediate' feedback for the Summit particaption while it is fresh on everyones mind.  Before, would require that the 'feedback' wait until the next board meeting, and that could be up to month.  Also, right after, allows us to get some of the 'homework' competed between the in person board meeting and the conference call board meeting.
