  • 1.  FAS Network Client Install - Fails

    Working with a hosting vendor to install Sage FAS 2020.1. Sever portion installed no issues. Now trying to install on Windows 10 VM and getting the error below. It there a resolution for this? We did:

    • Turn off the .NET 3.5 feature in Windows 10
    • Reboot
    • Download the installation package from Microsoft
    • Run the install as Administrator
    • .NET 3.51 SP1 installed
    • It appears in Windows features list.
    Issue not resolved. Hosting vendor claims AV turned off. The hosting vendor wants me to connect them with Sage support directly. I think the end user can do that.

    With SFA, I just call their tech support line (free and fast) or turn this over to client's IT staff (they love challenges).  If I recall, I have encountered this error in the past and IT fixed it.

    Is this one of the .NET that has to be added directly to the server vs through the Sage install? I'm not positive about this but thought I ran into a situation where a .NET upgrade had to be installed through an add/remove programs type procedure directly on the server

    Can you try to enable .Net 3.5 thru Add/Remove/Advanced/Windows Features and do you also need a current .Net installed?
    I think FAS Support is only via Chat now, no more phoning in for support.
