  • 1.  FAQ Presenter Questions for Vitual MOTM 2021

    Posted 12-21-2020 18:30

I think it may be wise to list a few things and keep a thread going to help answer any 'presenter' questions that may pop-up.

We are paying the production company, Vario, to produce a professional quality recording, including a 'tech-check" before the 'final' recording. In addition to the presenters 'recording,' they'll need to have any PowerPoint and any demo materials ready at the time of the 'final' recording.  Vario will record the presenter, their materials, and then edit and produce the final session.  We invested in using a production company since we want everyone to look great, feel comfortable, and be able to address their topic without having to deal with the tech recording stuff. We do not expect any daytime Emmy's but we will have one of the most professionally produced virtual events of the year.

Vario will be contacting the presenters soon – I'm still waiting to learn when the recordings are starting to be scheduled.   It's two dates, from what I know at this time.  Tech check, then recording date.

No recordings of sessions will be available to non-paying registrants.  We'll keep the recordings for any paid attendees on the site available for them to review.  Later (like a year later) will down-load and archive to the MOTM Resource Library.  No freeloaders (or skip loaders)

Does the presenter need to attend their session?

Yes, we expect the presenter to answer 'live-chat' while their recorded presentation is aired.  Think pre-recorded but aired with a 'live" audience.

    What should the presenter wear?

Professional attire suitable for a work environment.  Avoid visible logos on hats, shirts, etc. unless it's a company logo.  Note, avoid hats, they tend to shade the face to much.

How much am I being paid?

We are forever grateful for generous contributions just like you sharing your mind on 90minds.com.  It's an honor to be recognized as a subject expert.

Does the presenter need any special equipment?

A good quality computer camera, lit room to record (no caves), good microphone which could be the one built into the camera, a good internet connection.  (most everyone will have these items).  If there are any issues with equipment, Vario can rent out lights, camera, and action/internet (could not help the pun).  The tech check will confirm the presenters equipment is functional for the recording session.

Here's a picture that may help understand the concept of simu-live (simulated live presentation).  We'll have our own branding on the website but you can see the 'chat' area on the right for this 'panel' presentation. Notice everyone is well lit, has about the same distance from the camera, is wearing work appropriate clothing.
