Brett,
If one person at Insight Software says it is sunset and one says it isn't - doesn't this mean there's a 50/50 chance of the news being true?
For background:
BizNet is a reporting tool based on MS Excel that integrates Sage 100 and other Sage products. It gained popularity around the time that Microsoft discontinued FRx, and Sage customers whose ERP used FRx for financial reporting were forced to find a replacement.
Sage introduce Sage Intelligence as the replacement for FRx. Because it was included "free" with Sage, the SI reporting tool, also based on Excel, appeared to take some wind from the sails of BizNet.
According to the website, Biznet offers three main products:
- BizInsight
- BizConnector
- BizBroadcast
In March 2019, BizNet was acquired by insightsoftware for an undisclosed amount. The press release indicates BizNet had 2,800 customers at the time of acquisition. The same press release indicates insightsoftware had 155,000 enterprise users at 5,500 companies (presumably customers) at the time of the BizNet purchase.
insightsoftware's playbook of buying up a lot of competitors looks pretty similar to Sage's. There is a new CEO at insightsoftware
Michael Sullivan succeeds Jim Triandiflou, who has been CEO since 2020. Under Triandiflou's leadership, insightsoftware meaningfully increased revenue, successfully completed 12 acquisitions to extend its software offerings and expanded its global employee base. Sullivan and Triandiflou have worked closely on the leadership transition.
