  • 1.  Failed to retrieve data from the database.

    Sage 100 Advanced v2018 PU 3 with CS ODBC print service running. Custom Crystal report runs successfully on the server in about three minutes.  The same report runs on a workstation for 5 hours and then the following message appears: " Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 143].  What's a database vendor code 143?

    I believe this has been solved.  I discovered the data source in the Crystal report uses the server E drive path instead of sotamas90 odbc.  A workstation wouldn't be able to find the E drive on the server.  Consultant error.

    That makes sense. The 143 error is saying it can't find the DB. I just had it and it was a case where the network connection was dropping.

    You know what would be nice @Robert Wood - a notice on the thread ​subject that said "RESOLVED". It would sure help when searching for something similar to know there was a resolution vs.still an open issue.
