Facebook adds a ""subscribe"" button to profiles. You have to enable this but essentially what it does is alway people to see your already public posts (this only works on public posts) in their news feeds.
Anything you post marked public was always searchable -- this just makes it easier to see the info in your news feed.
The feature has to be enabled to show up.
