Extremely slow performance in Shipping Data Entry - v2020.1

    Has anyone seen slow performance in Shipping Data Entry (SDE)?  Just Upgraded client to v2020.1 and SDE is extremely slow for very large orders (e.g. 278 line order).

    To clarify, client scans item barcode, it goes to that line, then they basically have to wait 15+ seconds before scanning next one.  In their prior v2014 system they were able to scan scan scan scan one right after the other.

    The only thing I noticed is that the CM update panels utility didn't properly resize a customized panel's DMAIN to allow for the larger addresses in PSHIPPING.

    No performance complaints... just a screen crash whenever they clicked on the lower part of the panel.  I had to resize DMAIN manually.

    Is it only shipping which is slow? Standard/Advanced/Premium? Could this be related to slow performance of Standard on Windows Server 2019?

    Are you using a third party for scanning or just hanging scanner off a pc? How are those PCs connected ( RDP, network, etc. ).

    Yes, just Shipping. 
    Adv. 
    Same slowness even if try to manually enter qty on each line: long delay between each one. 
    Computers connected to network normally; directly on server is slow. 
    Happens on multiple workstations.
    S/O Invoice Entry perfecting fine manually entering qtys one after another; no delay.
    Haven't yet tried copying to another company or try their data on my system or try ABC data.

    UPDATE/RES:

    Apparently this issue is specific to existing large orders.  A brand new fresh v2020.1 order with the same # of lines processes MUCH faster than the 278 line order that came over from v2014.

    CORRECTION:  This now appears to be a Sage 100 issue with Shipping Data Entry (SDE). 

    I took the client’s data and system out of the picture and just tested with ABC on my laptop, and upon trying to ship a fresh new 278 line sales order in SDE (by simply entering a qty of 1, then keyboard down-arrow, qty of 1, then keyboard down-arrow, etc.), there’s a 10 second delay for being able to enter the next qty.  Then I tried ABC on the client’s server and I’m getting an 8 second delay.  Previously my 278 line order test had the same item repeated 278 times which wasn’t resulting in this delay on either my laptop or the client’s server.

    I have a call with Sage tomorrow/Tue to show them.

    x-ref - I just noticed that a KB article has appeared on this issue: 

    Slow response time in SO Shipping Data Entry after entering Qty Shipped and selecting next line for Sales Orders with large number of lines.

    As of 12/31/20 the workaround is to ship orders with 100 or fewer items

    Update from Sage:

    I was just asking engineering about this defect this morning.
    Our programmers have corrected the issue and they were going to locate the program for me so I could have access with a pre-release agreement.
    I will send you a pre-release agreement when I get access to the corrected program (SO_Shipping_ui.pvc)

    We have a client with 600 line orders and they are very unhappy with speed on shipping data entry.

    Sage's release notes 2021 below 

    There is no slow response time in SO Shipping Data Entry after entering Qty Shipped and 
    selecting next line for Sales Orders with large number of lines.(Tested with 1SO and added 250 
    lines and verified the shipping data entry)

    Any other options?

    The other areas are not as  loaded with data.

     

    The test we ran was 577 lines with kits throughout the order.

     

    Back Order 1 Line with 1 parent Item and 1 component Item.
