  • 1.  Explanation of Y and Z records in SY_Griddefinition.m4t file

    Posted 10-25-2022 19:15
Can someone please provide an explanation of what the Y and Z records are in the above file?  I know they are default records, but I just want to understand what the Y records are for and what the Z records are for.

    Thanks!

Y_GridDefinition maintains grid preferences for each company, user, and workstation combination in addition to the levels.

Z is standard sage 100, factory settings.

    Y is master developer added.

B is records created in the custom office module.

A is a company, user, and workstation specific.

So the moment you add a UDF for the first time, it should create a Z level record. Once users get into the task and start rearranging the grid or changing column widths, an A level record is created.

I had an issue with a corrupt sy_griddefinition a couple of years ago.  Pretty sure I pilfered this info from 90 Minds.  I believe I cobbled together these notes form several posts.

Would be nice to have topics of this nature presented a la a "lunch and learn" presentation.  Presentations do not have to be spectacular but interesting.  30 - 45 minutes in length.  Leave time for some Q and A and maybe some time for a "Happy Talk banter" quarter hour.  Introduce new members, etc.Perhaps the BOD could present on occasion........
