Excel question - Back in the good old days of Lotus (remember them?), I used to create a input range and then click on / Range Input. This would allow me to enter information within that specific range. The curse would advance to the next line when it reached the right side of the defined range. Is there an equivalent function in Excel?

Jeff, if you just highlight the range, I believe it will behave as you're wanting it to.

RW, can you elaborate on the exact steps? Not working for me.

I'm just highlighting the range with my mouse and then tabbing through the cells. Another way of doing something like that is with protection. If you select the range you want to work in and right click and select Format Cells. Go to the Protection tab and uncheck Locked and click OK. Then go to protection (Alt +T, P, P on the keyboard. I can't find it on the 2007 ribbon. Stupid ribbon! In 2003 and before it was on Tools | Protection | Protect Worksheet) and click OK. When you're done you go back and turn off protection and select the cells, Right click and select Format Cells | Protection Tab and check Locked and click OK.

The Form command on the Data menu provides a similar funtion to automatically advance through a selected range. It requires a header row.

I assumed you were back at the ranch, but didn't you say you went south of the border? Staying at an hombre ranch?

I sent a SocialCast postcard. Your nose must have been grinding. We were in Oaxaca - southern Mexico. Always very beautiful and interesting. Few US tourists - lots of Europeans. One day we spent at Monte Alban. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dandanmargaret/sets/72157625315329838/show/
